A stunning, harborside wedding day for sweet Katie and Chris! These two truly had the most gorgeous day to celebrate their love in a place meaningful to them both. As Katie shared with me, “I grew up coming down to Bay Head each summer, and now Chris and I spend a lot of summer weekends down there together! We both really love being down the shore, and getting married on the water will bring such peaceful and beautiful views.”
Katie and Chris are a dating-app-success-story, and have been together for four years now. “We met on Hinge and had our first date at the Warren in the West Village. We got two drinks over the course of four hours because we couldn’t stop talking, and then got kicked out of the bar because they were closing.” And the rest, they say, is history!
Fast forward a few years down the road and Chris was able to successfully pull off an elaborate Miami proposal — after successfully convincing Katie over and over that he would NEVER go through security with an engagement ring. Thankfully all went according to plan, and Chris totally surprised Katie by popping the question on the beach one night before dinner. Katie, of course, said yes (eventually, after initially being super shocked!) and absolutely loves her ring. “It’s an elongated cushion cut ring, and exactly what I wanted!”
Together these two live in Hoboken and are both super active — they love playing tennis and pickle ball, and getting competitive with each other. They also enjoy going out to dinner and trying new restaurants in Hoboken and Jersey City, as well as cooking dinner together and having cozy nights in.
When planning their wedding, choosing a private club in Bay Head was a no brainer. “We wanted lots of neutral, beachy tones (lots of white and champagne throughout) the spaces. The boat ride directly after the ceremony that will take us to cocktail hour is the most unique piece of the day. It allows us to have a little time by ourselves to celebrate before going in and celebrating with friends and family.”
From start to finish, Katie and Chris had an absolutely perfect celebration. Congratulations to these two!
